**Onsite in Mountain Home Idaho**

Supports Factory Leadership as a strategic partner in the operation of the facility to achieve employee safety, safety compliance, environmental, human resource, quality and productivity objectives while meeting or exceeding our customer demands and expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates execution of safety policies and procedures as set forth by Marathon Cheese Corporation and local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation / Federal Motor Carrier Administration (DOT/FMCSA).
  • Advises management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
  • Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices and required compliance training.
  • Maintains safety files and records to be “Audit Ready at All Times”.
  • Facilitates and performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive actions where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Supports, facilitates and participates in root-cause investigation and assists in driving operational continuous improvement.
  • Prepares incident sharing documentation for use by company personnel and senior management.
  • Development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs. (Keep programs current)

  • Completes near-miss, first-aid, and accident data stratification for trend analysis.
  • Assists with and maintains environmental programs and reporting as necessary.
  • Prefer experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient with MS Office, communication and training skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to execute Lean Six Sigma problem solving methodologies is preferred.
  • Must have acceptable current driver’s license for vehicle type driven.

WORK AVAILABILITY

  • 45 hour work week, flexible schedule to support 24 hour operation as necessary.
  • Must be able to travel overnight some of the time.
  • Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
